Vacation!...?

Car Ride Ben. He just can't help it.

Mr. Collinsworth and I need a vacation. And it just so happens that he has Spring Break within a month of when we are having a 4 year wedding anniversary. Now, we have a huge list of vacation wish destinations. But we have limited funds, limited time and a chihuahua.

Our list of dream vacations ( in no particular order):
Graceland/Dollywood
New York
Seattle
Hawaii
Europe
Las Vegas
Disneyland. Always Disneyland.

Well, we have been to Disneyland. Twice since we have been married. It is the happiest place on Earth and the best vacation destination for two over grown children.
Benji has never been to Las Vegas since turning 21. That is sad. Also, the Elvis factor is important in almost all things.
Europe was the home to most of our favorite authors, they make Guinness there and, of course, Disneyland Paris!
Hawaii was my grandma's ultimate vacation spot. She had a change jar to save for a trip to Hawaii for as long as I can remember. She never got to go. So, in spite of the fair complexion + tropical climate=disaster factor, Hawaii is a must. Sentiment and Elvis always win.
My very favorite girl lives in Seattle. Other than that, I am not foaming at the mouth to get up there or anything, but I love Tori Thurman something fierce.
New York is home to practically all of Ben's family. Also, THIS.
I have already been to Graceland. It was wonderful and emotional and weird. Dolly Parton is Ben's god.

So...where do we go?
I originally decided on Graceland/Dollywood. Now I am waffling. It is a 48 hour round trip car ride. That in itself is a cause for pause. Also, Graceland is on the top of the list of places that we have to take Tiny Collinsworth. *Sidebar- Tiny Collinsworth is what we call our kid. Nope, I am not pregnant. Yup, we have no children. Tiny is the idea of a child.* I would also love to take my mom with. So, maybe it is a no for now.
We certainly do not have the money for New York. That is a someday trip.
Seattle pretty much requires plane travel. That is expensive, we can't take the Marple and I hate planes. Sigh, that may be a someday trip too.
I think Hawaii is a Tiny/mom trip too.
If New York is too expensive, Europe is too too too expensive. I thought we had it in the bag when my brother was going to be stationed in England. But, military stuff changes all the time, so no bueno.
We are going to Las Vegas for our 5th or 10th anniversary. I want a wedding re-do using my original plans. Tacky! Elvis! Booze! Go Go Boots!
Did I just non-purposefully land on Disneyland?!

  1. DISNEYLAND!! Or San Diego? We had lots of fun there past spring.

  2. Those are pretty much the two places I have narrowed it down to. We can't just do San Diego, I think we are incapable of being in the state of California and not going to Disneyland. So, I am trying to decide if it should be all Disney or half and half.
